HSA Debit Cards

HSA debit cards from take care plans make it easy for employees to get the most out of their flexible spending accounts. One of the major hassles associated with many health care plans is getting reimbursed. Even when items are clearly covered by a plan, it can take weeks and sometimes months to file all the required paperwork and receive a check in the mail.

The Ease of HSA Debit Cards

These hassles are eliminated with HSA (health savings account) debit cards. With a debit card you can pay for qualified items directly from your health savings account at the point of purchase. Simply swipe your card as you would any debit card, and pay for the items you need. The money is directly debited from your HSA account and often requires no additional paperwork.

You can even track what you've spent online. When you log onto your online account, you can check your available balance and review all of the purchases you've made. If you've made a purchase without using your card and need to file for a reimbursement, you can do so online as well. Claim forms can be filled in online and simply printed out. You can then send them with your receipt to file your claim.

There are some limitations to the uses of HSA debit cards. These cards can only be used at qualified locations, such as drugstores or pharmacies. For regular purchases, such as prescription drug co-pays, all that is necessary is to swipe the card. In some cases, you may be required to submit additional paperwork or receipts for the purchase you've made.
